The Duramold process would be employed on the massive flying boat Hercules, and the sleek twin-boom construction would be reused on the xf-11 spy plane. Few pictures exist of the D-2, which was destroyed in a hangar fire cause by lightning.( Ironically Hughes claims lockhead stole this design for it’s p-38 Lighting)
